The American Civil War is considered to be the most bitter conflict within the United States of America. Most people understand that the Civil War was the North (The Union) fighting against the South (The Confederacy). More than 3 million people fought in it and over 600,000 troops died in the war. Unfortunately, the cause of the Civil War is controversial. Some people say it was because of slavery. Some believe it was states rights, and some believe both. Consequently, slavery was outlawed legally after the war, and the South had no choice but to reunite with the Union.
